about

Hi, my name is Alexandra and I am the person behind Mirra Tierra. Each piece of Mirra Tierra jewellery is cut, soldered and polished by my hand. I also work alongside craftsmen for processes like casting and plating. Please allow for slight differences since all my jewellery is 100% handmade.

Mirra Tierra came to me as an idea back in 2012, however only after 2019 it came closer to what it is today. After wandering a lot around Greece, in 2022 I came back to my hometown, Ioannina, to settle down with Mirra Tierra at a small studio in the heart of the city.

For my designs, I drag inspiration from everything around me; nature and architecture are my favourite sources of inspiration. I like creating unique textures, abstract volumes and minimalist lineal forms. The techniques I am using are wax carving, lost wax technique, reticulation etc.

It is very important to me to reduce the environmental impact of my work. In order to acheive that, I use mostly recycled sterling silver to create my jewellery and precious or semiprecious gemstones that are traceable and conflict-free. I also use sustainable packaging, more environmentally friendly techniques and less chemical materials in the jewellery process.

Mirra Tierra stands for "land of myrrh" and was named after a beach in Evia, GR where I used to spend my summers. With the same romantic attitude I name all my designs; each piece has an attitude and a personality on its own.

Mirra Tierra was created as a way to express myself. Hopefully these pieces will become a reflection of your own unique identity. Enjoy!

Ring Size Guide

Most Mirra Tierra rings are adjustable so that you will be able to style them on different fingers and mix and match them any way you like!

However, in order to ensure the perfect ring fit, please check the following tips:

-The best time to measure your finger size is at the end of the day and when your fingers are warm, because in the morning or when it is cold fingers may be a bit smaller. Maybe measure your finger size a few times for more accuracy.

How to measure your ring size

1. Use a soft measuring tape, wrap it around your finger and note the measurement.

2. Wrap a piece of paper around the intended finger and mark with a pen the spot where the ends overlap. Make sure that it would allow for the knuckle.

3. Measure the inner diameter of a ring you already have and fits the intended finger. Make sure not to include the thickness of the shank itself.

Once you have your measuments, you may consult the following table and add the Ring size in the note section of your order or choose the preferable ring size on the dropdown list on the product page.
